Younger Generation (Gen Z) Uses Artificial Intelligence for Work and Mood Improvement

Recently, the characteristics of the Gen Z work culture have been actively discussed. Discussions cover both their working methods and office priorities, work-life balance, and technology usage. For Gen Z representatives, work is no longer solely about earning a salary; it is also important for them to learn something new, advance in their career, and pay attention to personal well-being. In this context, the growing application of AI in the office environment opens a new aspect to understanding how Gen Z operates.

According to the 'Deloitte 2026 Gen Z and Millennials Survey,' 93% of Gen Z individuals and 95% of millennials in India use AI in their daily activities. Moreover, 93%–96% of people from both age groups note the positive influence of AI on both their professional and personal lives. Most frequently, AI is used for learning new material and developing new skills.

Furthermore, people consult AI for career advice and use it to combat work-related stress. At the same time, most believe that the AI tools provided by their employers are sufficient to meet their needs. However, the level of satisfaction among millennials regarding these tools is higher than among Gen Z.

The report data shows that the use of AI is not limited to speeding up tasks or simplifying routine work. Gen Z uses AI for continuous self-learning and improving their competencies. AI has become an easily accessible resource for understanding new topics, obtaining skill information, or simplifying complex concepts.

Seeking career consultations is also one of the main reasons for using AI. Gen Z quickly seeks advice from AI regarding job searching, skills, career advancement, or making career decisions.

It is interesting that AI is used not only to increase the speed and quality of work but also to reduce stress associated with work. When deadlines, work pressure, and career anxiety are constantly present, some employees try to figure out their problems, organize their work, and find solutions with the help of AI.

Overall, the statistics indicate that for Gen Z, AI is no longer just a technology used in the office. It is now closely linked to the process of learning, career growth, labor productivity, and mental health. Thus, the role of AI in understanding the changing work style of Gen Z cannot be ignored.
