Uzbekistan and Russia are preparing an electronic system for exchanging certificates of origin for goods

Allied Biofuels held a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) meeting in Ningbo with key partners involved in its project to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF and e-SAF) worth 6.1 billion US dollars in Uzbekistan.

All attendees expressed confidence that they will be able to make the final Investment Decision (FID) in the first quarter of 2027. The event took place at the Sinopec office.

Participants and Division of Responsibilities

Representatives from China's Sinopec Engineering Group, Denmark's Topsoe A/S, South Africa's Sasol, and the US's Plug Power participated in the meeting. The parties agreed on the distribution of engineering tasks, technological interfaces, and a coordinated implementation program.

Sinopec Engineering Group is responsible for system integration, detailed design, and developing a cost estimate in an open-book format, after which the transition to the design, procurement, and construction (EPC) stage will begin.

Topsoe and Sasol provide licenses for key e-SAF production technologies—the SynCOR™ technology and the Fischer-Tropsch process, respectively. Plug Power provides electrolyzer systems with a total capacity of up to 2.4 GW for green hydrogen production.

This project involves creating the first integrated industrial complex for aviation biofuel production in Central Asia. Its implementation is supported by the President of Uzbekistan and combines renewable energy generation, green hydrogen production, and advanced fuel technologies.

The government has requested that Microsoft place future data centers closer to electricity generation sources rather than near cable reception stations. According to the Secretary of Information Technology, S. Krishnan, this decision will reduce costs for both the company and the country.

During the presentation of Microsoft's fourth cloud region in Hyderabad, India, Krishnan noted that building data centers near power sources is more economical and simpler than placing them near coastal cable landing points like Chennai. He emphasized that the government will continue to facilitate the expedited approval process to meet the needs of both the country and the global community.

On this day, Microsoft officially launched its fourth cloud region in India, located in Hyderabad. This launch is part of the company's commitment to investing $20.5 billion in the country's digital and AI infrastructure. The new region, named India South Central, became available to the public on August 6 and joins the company's existing regions in Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune.

Krishnan called this launch an important step toward strengthening India's AI and data center infrastructure. He stated that the country needs to simultaneously adopt the best global technologies while developing its own sovereign computing power. He also pointed out that India's massive population of 1.4 billion people, along with its growing digital public infrastructure, generates large volumes of data that represent a 'treasure trove' for artificial intelligence applications, giving the country the potential to become an 'application superpower.'

Furthermore, Krishnan indicated that India's tax policy, ease of doing business, and a new telecommunications law that simplifies mutual interconnection of facilities have made the process of building and connecting a data center to the power grid in India easier than in many other nations.

A subsidiary of the auto component manufacturer Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd, namely Samvardhana Motherson Adsys Tech Ltd (SMAST), has received approval to purchase 50.1 percent of the equity capital of Rotary Connectors Pvt Ltd at an enterprise valuation of 500.4 crore rupees.

The Board of Directors of Samvardhana Motherson International approved the deal, which will be executed entirely in cash, according to regulatory filings as of Monday. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

After the completion of the deal, SMAST will own 50.1 percent of the equity capital of Rotary Connectors Pvt Ltd (RCPL), after which RCPL will become an indirect subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International. Meanwhile, the promoters of RCPL will retain 49.9 percent of the equity capital in the company.

According to regulatory documentation, the Board of Directors of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd (SAMIL) reviewed and approved the acquisition of 50.1 percent of the equity capital in Rotary Connectors Pvt Ltd by Samvardhana Motherson Adsys Tech Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, from the existing shareholders of RCPL during its meeting today.

This strategic partnership aligns with the Motherson group's vision for diversification and expansion of its business in the aerospace and defense sectors, particularly in the field of electrical wiring and connection systems.
